Characteristic Features

-A shell is thick, up to 3.5cm in diameter and has pronounced tangentail
ribbing.

-It usually has a drab, dark purple-brown exterior and a nacreous interior
with a greenish umbilicus usually just sealed.

-The mouth has a smooth outer tip and one columella tooth.

-The operculum is thin and corneous.

Very commonly found on boulder and rocky shores, usually on the lower half of the shore.
